Jwalters,
It is not possible to extend existing licenses, as the dates are baked into the license. Please contact sales@coreos.com and they will be able to get you a new license.
Cheers,
Will
I have the same problem, I contacted the sales representative and he told me that the license should renew by itself. Past the XXX days my license expired and the cluster is down, it did not renew as stated by the representative. Now I have two options, create a new cluster or move completely out of coreos tectonic.
I am still waiting for the representative to get me a new license and I need to install it from the command line since cluster is down and the only access to it is through SSH.
I'm getting this notice in the console as well now. "Cluster License Expires Soon Your license will expire in 21 days. View the cluster settings or log in to your Tectonic account".
Neither of the recommended steps lead to a mechanism to refresh the license. We can't allow our cluster to go down, see we need to validate the renewal path in the next week to insure there isn't an interruption in service.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi @rjbaucells and @JoshuaKolden, this notice is informational and shouldn't impact any running apps on the cluster, but in older Tectonic versions it may prevent you from using the Console until the license is updated. We viewed this as too restrictive so newer versions don't restrict the Console at all. kubectl
shouldn't be impacted at all.
If you are both using the 10 free nodes, you can login to account.coreos.com to download a renewed license.
The question I have, and I think others have given the title of the issue is when I go to account.coreos.com I still do not see how to acquire a new Tectonic license. There is no renew Tectonic licenses link, and the section marked “CoreOS Tectonic” contains only two links one for documentation and a gear icon with dropdown menu with a link to “Deactivate Product…”
There is, however, a clearly labeled CoreOS license link:
So I think we’re all just looking for the "Download Tectonic License” link.

In preparing this detailed response I discovered that the “CoreOS” license file that is downloaded is named “tectonic-license.txt”, so it turns out to be a UI mistake. The title and link to the Tectonic license are mislabeled.
I have the same problem (Your license will expire in X days) I have downloaded the license from account.coreos.com and pasted it in tectonic, but the expire-warning doesn't disappear.
Correction: it works, I was only too impatient. It just needs some time to change the status.
Actual Behavior
My Tectonic 10 node cluster is warning that I have X days left with the current license. However, on the website there is no obvious way to generate a new license.
