yes but it is possible but cities have very high light values so I am not sure how informative it will be, it will also depend where the city begins and ends (ie the geometry that we are sampling from).
Too close to the city center and they will all look the same, too far away and then the median value for that city is less valuable as it depends more and more on the random sample, if that makes sense.
Basically all the cities all look about the same I think but I am willing to discuss this further.
Yeah. I agree. I think that the birds serve the purpose of familiarizing and orienting readers with the urbanization index... If RK brings it up again, we can circle back to it.
@johnWilshire would it be possible to essentially sample random points within 5-10 cities in Australia, and then calculate the median of those randomly sampled distribution points?
RK thought it might a nice addition to orient people with the 'index' on Figure 2. Could add a line at the bottom where a number of cities would fall, as their average 'index'.
