we should think about whether some little supporting dummy simulations will add anything to the story here happy to develop some code

Hey @bowlerbear I think I have an idea how some simulations would add to the story!

I think since the story is really forward-looking, I think we could do a simulation that would show eBird sampling throughout a year and kind of 'ticking' each grid off as it reaches its necessary number of checklist threshold. This would make for a cool GIF. Can chat about this more soon!
