Does this happen when you import any files, or only when you import a particular file? Can you attach the file you are trying to import?

How did you import the file in Aperture, did you drag and drop the file into the Aperture sidebar, or did you use the "Import" toolbar button? If one of these causes Aperture to crash, can you try the other one?

More troubleshooting steps: I know this may sound strange and unrelated, but can you open System Preferences -> General, and change the "Show scroll bars" setting to "When scrolling", re-open Aperture, then try to import the photo again?

Hello! First, thank you for Retroactive! I finally upgraded to Catalina yesterday and was happy to find this fix for Aperture as I've been using it for 10+ years. I am having similar problem with importing. At first, I was also having crashes where the app kept closing when I would click on a folder or project. Then I restarted. Next, Aperture didn't recognize my SD card at all. I restarted again. Now it recognizes it, but it stays stuck on 'loading assets' and never shows the images in order to be able to import. Appreciate your help. Thanks!
