com.apple.iTunes.plist not saving #387

Closed JNGLHAUS closed 8 months ago

Minor issue, I like to disable all the tabs except Library, however it seems the com.apple.iTunes.plist keeps getting reset.

If I check all the boxes and click lock, when I quit and re-open iTunes it shows unlocked then at some point all the boxes get unchecked - either after a few hours or if I add new music then quit.

I have tried copying com.apple.iTunes.plist to the desktop, restarting, then adding back in but inevitably it reverts back and the changes do not stick.

Any ideas?

I also tried:

  1. Make your changes in Preferences
  2. Close iTunes
  3. Go to ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost
  4. Drag com.apple.iTunes.(random string of numbers) CC.plist to the Desktop
  5. Restart Computer
  6. Open iTunes - you will be greeted by a message asking if you want to send Data to Apple (I clicked No Thanks)
  7. iTunes opens as normal with your previous settings applied but reverts back after time

OK, think I solved it:

  1. Make your changes in Preferences

  2. Close iTunes

  3. Go to ~/Library/Preferences

  4. Find com.apple.iTunes.plist

  5. Get Info, go to the bottom, click the lock and change from "Read & Write" to "Read Only" then lock it back up

  6. Should look like this:

  7. Restart Computer
