I am not sure if why the search icon looks like this for JuliaMono. is this a missing glyph?

Seems to be happening for all my fonts. I guess there is a missing font in my system.

those might be FontAwesome glyphs, or some other icon font?

yeah. it is font awesome. I will try to adjust my fontconfig accordingly
