Or will I be forced to buy an alternative NIC? This effectively bypasses all the internet vulnerability side of things I have read... which is very good news for everybody.
All the tools for detecting ME have failed in Windows thus far; I get a PMXUtil: Error during PMX Call: sseiddrvdll32e.dll!DRVInstallDriver<>: Coulnd't Open Service Manager err <5> I will try using MEInfo in msdos asap.
I recall updating the firmware at one point or another, I'm not sure to what version. I am curious if this will this affect the process. I'm also using a highly modified bios with updated microcodes to allow a Xeon processor to run on an LGA775 chipset. Hexing a stock bios won't do me very well. How many Intel generations back has the "HAP bit" fix been proven inserted into ME?
