Reporting my failure with MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI and an Intel 13900K CPU. I don't expect there's anything me_cleaner can do, but hopefully this information is helpful to others. (Supposedly coreboot plans to support this board eventually. I hope that includes turning off ME...)
Patched the A60 BIOS release with me_cleaner (HAP bit only) and flashed it using the BIOS's own flashing tool. It succeeded, but wouldn't boot. Showed the MSI logo at power on, with Del/F10/etc key instructions, but the keys didn't work either.
Recovery was successful using an unmodified A60 image on a 16 GB onn USB 2.0 flash drive using factory formatting and the "BIOS flash" button on the rear of the PC. I had to unplug all(?) other USB devices before it would work properly.
