Could be very useful. Only thing is: what format? Rolling our own: ascii,
binary? Or supporting another format that does the job?

In versions after 0.3.4 you can save in MIDI format. Loading them should be 
doable
and available in new versions.

Do we still need another format? Or should we build the loading part and allow 
you to
 squish as much meta data as possible in the midi files?

Loading MIDI files works since version 0.3.6. There are plans for MusicXML 
support. I
think we don't need another format.
