Annotations not rendering

Hi, I'm using cornerstone3D for a project. I have set up a tool group for a particular viewport with a bunch of annotation tools. Everything is working perfectly - I am able to switch between tools (the SVG cursors are changing in the appropriate manner). However, any time I actually try to make an annotation, it just refuses to render. I can tell that the annotation is being made (as the cursor reappears after 'making' an annotation) but it's not visible. Is there anything I'm missing? Perhaps some explicit association with the image data or some visibility setting?
