Confusing wording reg. status removal #119

There seems to be confusion going on reg. the removal of the status, see e.g. these Tweets:

Meanwhile, I double-checked the above-mentioned and many other twitter comments and emails regarding the "essence" of the confusion - sorry guys, there is no core. As much as I like the funny parts of those comments: There is a lot of irony, the usual snobbish comments, and phrasemongering. While we certainly need to explain the disappearance of a former UI element (so, suppression of the G status notice is not an option), I don't see a chance to provide a generic solution for this variety of user comments. From what I read, it's not really confusion or understanding - but it looks like these users didn't actively realize, the G status is gone. And thanks to @Ein-Tim most of the twitter comments are already answered, right?

So: What exactly is the "confusing wording"? Do we still have an open taks?

@GisoSchroederSAP

Thanks for checking!

I think, and that was my main takeaway of the comments, is that users are misunderstanding the notification in a way they think their certificates in whole are irrelevant now, although only the status is irrelevant. However, I don't think this is a problem with the users not understanding the info text but just not correctly reading it. And we can't do anything about that.

I'm closing this issue.

Hm, if a certificate is invalid, it is grayed out, isn't it? Where do I see a certificate's relevance? So, I checked your list again to verify the "misunderstanding": no. 1 refers to the 4th vaccination certificate - but the messge does not include any string "certificate" at all - even other users (including yourself) mentioned this fact no. 2 does not mention the certificate - just generally wondering about the message no. 3 agrees the message but critizises the poor communication around the app (which is totally acceptable, we are not happy either) no. 4 like no. 2 - joking about general irrelevance no. 5 refers to the big term "vaccination status" - which is not mentioned at all in the notice.

(I did npot re-investigate the emails and store articles, but I remember there was a similar variatey of comments,)

@Ein-Tim, all I'm saying is that I don't see any solution to this kind of communication and joking. Not even a full FAQ article would be helpful here, as I don't expect the "fast-replying twitter user" first going to the FAQ to evaluate the "message's meaning" before writing comments that do not even match the topic of the info box.

So, what is the suggestion - does anybody really believes, there is a solution possible for all those users to avoid the mentioned "misunderstanding"?

@GisoSchroederSAP

Yes, I absolutely agree with you here, there is neither enough information where exactly the confusion is nor how we could improve it.
