Version 2.18 shows "1G" in case of a booster. Why isn't 2G+ shown? #851

Your Question

I used an Emulator to test the behavior of version 2.18 in regard of booster vaccinations. Importing a 3/3 certificate, leads to the status "1G". As the status "1G" is not widely known, wouldn't it make more sense to show 2G+? Or is this impossible, due to the different regulations in the different federal states?

We see it is important to different the states Grundimmunisierung, Grundimmunisierung mit Test, Grundimmunisierung mit Auffrischimpfung. Instead of 2G+ + B the state 1G for Grundimmunisierung mit Auffrischimpfung was introduced. The state 1G will introduced and explained with the release of the version.

@thomasaugsten Will it be explained in the app? Only explaining it in a blog post won't reach all users. Only a hint in the app can help here.

Btw: I understand your reasoning and support this! But it has to be communicated clearly through the app (splash screen, etc.).

@thomasaugsten

Okay, agreed.

I suggest to think about the wording "1G" again, as e.g. in the Netherlands this mens that all guests have to be tested, and that's it. See Niederlande: Regierung kündigt weitreichende Corona-Lockerungen an

@thomasaugsten / @mlenkeit

Imagine the situation where a similar situation comes up here in Germany (only a test from everyone is required, this will be called 1G then). Then we have the total chaos, 1G in the app has a total different meaning and this would confuse everybody.

I strongly suggest to not invent new G-Statuses but rather use the already known status names!

Ein-Tim commented 2 years ago

@mlenkeit Did you think about the term "1G" again? Maybe even discussed it with the RKI?

@Ein-Tim Will come back to you.

@dsarkar / @thomasaugsten

Can you confirm that there won't be a 1G status? See https://github.com/corona-warn-app/cwa-app-ccl/pull/25.

thomasaugsten commented 2 years ago

This is correct

@All, we are working on a statement about the approach to planning and implementing features in the app. Please keep in mind that our objective is to stay as up-to-date as possible with the app. However, development (including testing) will always lag behind the current decision-making process. So, yes, we are aware that the released version may not always reflect national and/or regional rulings or dynamically changing decisions and recommendations of the authorities. Originally, the introduction of the new 1G/1G+ status was requested the the stakeholders to provide a national non-contestable set of rules for the display and verification of the different vaccination scenarios.

However, we will use the momentum and we are on track to cover the ongoing legislative amendments with the next versions of the app.

Please remain patient.
