Provide way to manually register a suspected infection #264

Open rklaehn opened 3 years ago

rklaehn commented 3 years ago

Feature description

Provide way for user to manually enter a suspicion of a coronavirus infection.

Problem and motivation

There should be a way to manually enter data.

I had a very strong suspicion that I would be positive for Corona since Thursday last week, because of contacts with positively tested persons in the family. However, it took until Monday for the positive test result to come back.

I had no way to enter my suspicion into the app, and not even had a way to enter the positive test result into the app when I was contacted by my doctor via phone.

Is this something you're interested in working on

No.

Important @rklaeh! You can call the Verification Hotline and they will give you a TAN which can be entered in the App. The number is: +49 800 7540002.

To your proposal: What should a "suspected infection" in the App do? Already warn other users or what?

rklaehn commented 3 years ago

I think you would need some more fine grained risk scale, since obviously a suspected infection is not as strong evidence as a confirmed infection. So warn other users with a less severe warning level, I guess.

rklaehn commented 3 years ago

The app has confirmed my positive test after some time, so no need for the TAN approach. But thanks anyway.

The contact diary introduced in CWA 1.10 adresses this to a degree, since it allows manual tracing of personal contacts.

@rklaehn

Since you wrote your suggestion self-tests have become available and now with the release of CWA 3.0 it is possible to warn others based on the results of a positive self-test (see Version 3.0: CWA warnings now possible after positive self-test).

This is not the same as sending out a warning for a suspected infection, however it is a similar way and probably a better way of warning others more quickly without waiting for the results of a laboratory PCR test.
