Import Features from other German Corona apps #667

Hello, is it possible to import the features of the "CovPass Check" and the "CovPass" Apps?

In Detail:

  1. From the "CovPass Check" app the ability to prove the validity of COVID-certificates and,
  2. from "CovPass" app to save the imported COVID-certificate as an pdf-file.

These features would make the app more useful, also the other two obsolete. The main improvement would be Nr. 1, because many people doesn't know that the CovPass Check app exists.

Regarding number one

And concerning number two

Do you have some information, why those two apps were developed and these features not implemented into the CWA? I can't find a good reason why there are three apps now. Is there a statement by RKI or SAP why they made this decision?

No sorry, I don't have any information on this. I could only make a guess: CovPass was developed to give people who don't want to use the Corona-Warn-App for what reason whatsoever (e.g. battery consumption, other features they don't want, etc.) an option to also securely store their EU digital COVID certificates. However, as said, this is only a personal guess and not a statement from RKI/BMG.

@bugleugner Thanks for the suggestions. @Ein-Tim already pointed out the second feature being already implemented in the CWA. Regarding the first feature you propose: It is actually partially implemented. In the CWA the "Zertifikat prüfen" button below a certificate uses the same rules to check certificates as does the CovPassCheck-App. So, basically you are asking for the additional feature to do this check with the camera/scanner without importing a certificate, right?

@dsarkar This issue should probably be moved from cwa-website/issues to cwa-wishlist/issues.
