Thanks so much for contributing, but this is no longer required. AdMob is now free in the Corona marketplaced (soon to be closed) and new offline builds integrate this repo automatically, just as in the original README.

So for admob neither self hosted URL nor local file is needed ? just the name of the plugin ?

I think a one-solution fits all was easier to grasp. admob plugins are hosted and maintained by Solar2D repo. but we integrate them like all other plugins using local file collector for example.

That way I can fix admob version or change it independent of the one shipped with Solar2D.

Did you update the AdMob plugin and it works? Would you like to share how you did it? :)
