Possible additional features/functions #3

I love the concept of your app and that you're open to extending the functionality, as I would love to see its utility broadened. There are so many possible uses. The most obvious to me is creating a .txt file out of the selected text, either in a third party application or within Text Tools. Beyond that, it gets tough because everybody is going to differ quite a bit. So, for example, I would love an option to integrate with Real Debrid, or even just open a URL(real-debrid.com) upon highlighting some text.

Ideally, if you could build in some sort of framework that could accommodate the various individual use cases, that would be awesome but it also might be difficult just because of how varied the different applications are likely to be. Essentially a way to customize for individual needs, so for example I could create a context menu option for opening a URL, etc.

Interesting ideas. Can you explain how real-debrid.com works with the selected text? Should it open as real-debrid.com/?

It should be possible to let users create custom URL shortcut with a single parameter (text selection).

Sorry for the delay!

So I actually tried to get in contact with real debrid to inquire if formatting the URL could pass additional URLs onto, e.g., the downloader, but haven't been able to confirm one way or the other yet. What would be awesome is if you could highlight any number of URLs and then select RD from the drop-down and in the event that the URLs couldn't be passed to the downloader (which we probably have to assume until confirming otherwise) simply be able to be redirected to the downloader page but still have the selected URL(s) in the clipboard and ready to paste. Passing them would be most ideal but that might be wishful thinking. I don't know how much use others would get out of something like this though, so in the interest of keeping your app appealing to the most users, it might be better suited for a custom user option. But I'll keep you informed if I'm able to get confirmation on the URL formatting bit.

Also, I came across an app which I thought you might like to have a look at for some ideas to possibly incorporate into TT and because the app in question and your app are fundamentally different, I don't think you should have any reservation about adopting any of the Text Tools (ironically, that's what the section of the app is labeled) for use in TT, especially considering none of them are novel or unique ideas/features and have been staples of word processing forever.

The app is called Tooly and as mentioned, the section I thought you might be interested in is Text Tools. It's a pretty great little app, but TT has a major advantage with the context menu approach IMO. Anyway, rather than spout off all of the different tools you can just take a look for yourself, either via the below screenshot or simply install the app and personally take it for a spin.

Lemme know if you want to bounce any other ideas around (I'll try to respond quicker next time)!

Most of the features mentioned were added in the 1.4.0 release. Do let me know if they are not working.
