Farewell

Farewell!

aktech commented 9 months ago

I have learnt so much from you. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with you. I hope we cross paths again.

It's going to be one of the most difficult departures, I cannot express how much I have enjoyed working with you. All of my time at Quansight so far, one thing that has been constant is regular deep technical conversations with you. Your knowledge and humility is quite rare. This void will be hard to fill. I wish you luck as you embark on a new chapter in your journey. Posit will be incredibly lucky to have you!

My dear Chris, There are only a few people I've met in my career that I look up at, that inspire me, and that I keep thinking of years later wondering "what would this person do ?" After these 4 years together, I can definitely tell you're among these people now.

We'll miss your knowledge, your wisdom, and your friendliness. Can't wait to see your achievements in this next chapter of your career. We're all sure you'll do wonders ! You always do.

I hope we'll have the opportunity to meet in Europe again like in June 2022 ;) See you somewhere someday, but for sure : see you !

I won't re-post what people before me have said, although I wholeheartedly agree with it. Instead, let me re-share some feedback I have given you a while back

Thanks for always having "5 minutes" to talk to me about my ideas. I have yet to come out of such a conversation without learning something valuable. If I wouldn't experience it myself on a regular basis, I would be in disbelief about how much stuff you know that puts me on the right trajectory to the solution.

I wish you luck on your journey, but I'm confident that you won't need it. Thanks for everything and I really hope our paths cross again in the future.

Hey Chris!

I really enjoyed working with you. You combine this great personality with endless curiosity about software dev and all things infrastructure. I'll miss having you as a coworker. But I'm also excited about this new chapter of yours. I'm sure you'll do great no matter where you go!

All the best, Nikita

Chris, I'll miss you. It has always been a pleasure working with you, from my first day at Quansight and finding out the crazy research-y stuff you were working on back then, to our last meeting in Italy - I will remember the dinner we had and the smile on your face when I pitched Nix to Melissa:) Hopefully our paths will cross again!

Chris,

I joined Quansight just a couple months ago and, unfortunately, didn’t have a chance to interact that much with you. However, it is clear to me you are not only a very talented person but also a great human being.

Good luck in this new endeavor!

Chris,

I can't express in just a few words how much I've learned from you in the past three years and I've had the pleasure of working with you. All the chats about infrastructure and networking, the invaluable experiences, and the fantastic advice you generously shared have truly shaped my professional growth.

As you embark on this new career chapter, I do not doubt that you'll continue to inspire and achieve great things. Wishing you all the best!! Hope our paths cross again someday.

It's been great working with you. You've definitely elevated the work of everyone you've worked with and I've learned so much from working with you. I hope our paths cross in the future. Best wishes going forwards!

Chris,

It is with a heavy heart that I say farewell to your time at Quansight. You have been with us almost essentially since the beginning and have been instrumental in developing and delivery client solutions. I have had the opportunity to watch you grow the past 5+ years and will certainly miss your enthusiasm to roll up your sleeves and dive into complicated situations. You have always been in a learning position and always were gracious with feedback.

Thank you for your contributions to our customers and within the Quansight organization and culture. A lot of people look up to you for your technical guidance at Quansight and it will be missed. I will also miss your energy and presence at Camp Quansight. Thank you for always being so positive! I hope we stay connected and wish you the best in your next chapter. It has been a real pleasure!

Chris,

I have said this before but it is worth mentioning again, it has been a great pleasure working with you and you will be deeply missed. It has also been a delight seeing your growth over the last few years.

This is not a goodbye as I know we will continue to bump into each other both in digital and physical spaces within the OSS ecosystem. Best of luck for what comes next.

Chris,

I have to say that I'm very sad that I'll no longer get to work alongside you. I will certainly miss your always positive attitude and your willingness to help others. I really admire your innovator mindset - you've had a hand in so many integral things at Quansight, its hard to imagine the place without you! I do hope we are able to get together again in the future at conferences and such.

I know you will do great things in your next role, and I wish you all the best!

Chris,

Even though we didn't have much time together during this employment, I remember always being inspired by your skillset and your positive energy towards others. Hoping you'll stay that way.

Hi Chris!

I was always amazed about the true wizardry you displayed in such a vast array of topics! Yo were always kind to answer questions and help everyone find a solution to their problems. I am really glad we also got to meet in person in Italy 🇮🇹

All the best,

I'm going to miss you, Chris! It's been a real joy to get to meet and work with you. Thank you for always leading with kindness and finding ways to support everyone around you. I hope to see you around in community spaces, and all the very best for what's next. :') :sunflower:

dcmcand commented 9 months ago

Chris, I have a small list of people that I would want on my team if I had to solve a really hard problem, and you are definitely on that list. Interviewing with you helped convince me to join Quansight because I enjoyed our conversation so much and I have enjoyed every conversation that we have had since. Your obvious engineering talent, curiosity and enthusiasm all make you a great person to work with. I hope you have lots of interesting challenges in your next role, and I hope that we keep in touch going forward.

teoliphant commented 9 months ago

I loved learning from you and watching you develop right out of school! I can't wait to see what you do from here and am excited to work with you again in the future!

HaoZeke commented 9 months ago

Hi Chris, it was fantastic to meet you in person. I honestly don't think I'd be where I am without having interacted with you. You've been (and will be) an inspiration and friend. Hope we keep running into each other!

Chris,

It has been amazing. Loved working with you over the last several years. You have educated me on so many new areas and have innovated and built awesome new tools while you were at Quansight. You have been my go to person to solve hard problems. I will miss chatting about technology and ideas. Looking forward to seeing what you do in your future career and hope to cross path in community spaces like SciPy etc.

asmeurer commented 9 months ago

Chris, I feel like you are one of the Quansight "old guard". I still remember you and Tony competing every week to see who can give the most crazy tech share. Hope to still see you around at SciPy and other conferences.

dillonroach commented 9 months ago

Chris, I'm sad to be filling this out, because it means it's real and you're really headed out.

From my day one you were there with friendly and helpful guidance that helped make Quansight feel like something more than just a job. I recall early on, Travis had given me advice along the lines of "just follow Chris' example and you'll do great" - which is both excellent and terrible advice :) - excellent, because of course it's true, but terrible, because what a hard act to follow. I'm certain, and hope, you carry that forward in your other efforts - both in and out of work. I'm sure your curiosity and passion for what you do will go far in your next company and I hope it's a great experience. Stay in touch and know you're missed.
