We've used this library as a trustworthy SMTP server for a few years. Unfortunately, lately, there has been almost no activity around it and issues are not replied to. Is the library still actively maintained/developed?

Hi,

The project hasn't been abandoned, however, it has been pushed to the backburner of late due to other commitments.

I am now going be trying to dedicate some time per week to it for maintance and future support and am in the process of signing up to Github Sponsors in case anyone wishes to sponsor.
