I also suggest to use a more neutral tone, with a version "with datalad" and another "without datalad". We can mention datalad has benefits, but users are free to build their research environment how they please (including potentially with awesome tools we don't know about). I don't think the cneuromod docs are the place to recommend them to use datalad.
