Suggestion - Item Elevator/Dumb waiter #85

Basically, I have always felt conveyors to be the coolest way to move things, but their verticality or lack thereof has always irked me (even redstone can be vertical). I suggest an item elevator, making it look gear or hydraulic powered would also suit the theme of the mod (imo) quite well.

Basically it accepts items, then moves them up or down to be retrieved by a conveyer comes back, upside to it is compactness, downside to it is it's slower than a conveyer ramp (only moving a stack at a time)

sending items from one grinder to another is what inspired this though btw.

I have always loved Conveyors as well! So as you can imagine I definitely want the conveyors in MgC to be the best they can be. And it is funny you should bring this up. I was just thinking about moving items strait up the other day. This idea may work really well, other ideas I had were a fan, item elevator(like what you said), claw, bucket that gets lifted up and down. Not sure what we will end up going with. If you have any other ideas for MgC I would love to hear them. There is also are IRC channel (#Magneticraft) which I am almost always on if you want to pop by to talk more about ideas :)

I like the idea of a vertical version of the conveyor. There is an item called a bucket elevator that is used for bulk material movement, like coal: http://www.bulkmaterialshandling.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Bucket-Elevator.jpg What I would like to see is something like this, with the ability to transport items up or down, maybe depending on if conveyors are pointed at the side moving up or side moving down. It could have an animation for the top and bottom where the buckets circle around and one for the middle where they go up one side and down the other, so no matter how many you stack, it looks like one continuous tower.

I work in a production environment and we have spiral conveyors which look exactly how you think they would. Basically a corkscrew which can be setup to run up or down.

That'd be fine too. Would probably have to be 2x2 wide, but the current conveyors require 3x3 I believe.
