Remove links for the former pango.network website and/or migrate content #33

The rules and committee webpage has been down for over a week. I tried emailing enquiries@pango.network, but my message bounced, suggesting to me that the domain name was not renewed. I could not find any public announcement or github issue.

I appreciate that this is the github repo for cov-lineages.org, not for www.pango.network. Nevertheless, because this repo is web-related (and one site links to the other) it seemed like the best place to post this question. I'm sorry if this is impertinent, but I imagine that others will have the same question, and thought this was better than emailing individual people associated with the Pango Network.

Fortunately past versions of the site have been preserved at archive.org.

I am a big fan of the work you all do, so I hope the site can be restored (or the content moved elsewhere for possible future updates).

Hi @jshoyer The funding for the domain ran out, but the archived site can be found at https://web.archive.org/web/20240108015319/https://www.pango.network/ We will update the link from the cov-lineages website.

I see. I am sorry to hear that, but it is understandable. Thank you for the immediate reply.

The naming rules document was clear and useful, and seems to have been stable for quite a while, so perhaps it would be useful to move it to the pango-designation repo or the cov-lineages.org site. Just linking to the archive.org version could also work (at least as long as archive.org is around).
