Data comes from https://github.com/grwlf/COVID-19_plus_Russia based on official sources. I contacted Center of Communication of Russian Federation (they post daily updates in pdf on https://стопкоронавирус.рф, they replied that no changes in the format of updates are planned so far.

Thanks for your help! I have just merged your code. Here a couple of notes:

added the function RUS in order to export your data to the end user vie the covid19 function
data reshaped using pivot_longer
