Everyday is a new bug day with them. But all they say is, your state is responsible for slots availability
@ninjabhishek this is not a right time or place to play politics. This system has been developed in a very short time, even big projects come up with new issues, once it get used by people. There would be very less no. of systems which developed in such a short time and get used by such a large scale of people. Better to be constructive, report issues and help in improving it.
@GargManish if it's not the time why are you bringing politics, @ninjabhishek just mentioned what's the issue every common person is facing, maybe you too if you consider yourself a common person. On checking it's showing slot available but try to book and says nothing there. Is it some kind of joke to you. When someone raises a real issue instead of raising voice annoying people like you just try to cover it. Shame on you for being a developer (since you're in github considering you one).
@GargManish I am not playing politics here. This portal was open more than a month ago for 45+ and people have been struggling to get a slot since then. I don't know how it plays in your organization but when we have to release a feature this fast, we work extra hours but make sure the tests pass before this is delivered to production. And when people are struggling to get one slot, the bug that allows multiple slots booking for an individual is simply not acceptable. Also, this bug was found yesterday so atleast rolling back to last stable release was the quickest best option, which I don't think they have done. And when things go wrong with the product in our organization, the leader is held responsible. That's exactly what I commented about. If I wanted to talk politics, I have many reasons to complain, which I won't since this is not the time, and this is not the platform.
@MrityunjoyS its shame on you that instead of saying to him you are trying to defend him even supporting him that too here. Its him who said "But all they say is, your state is responsible for slots availability" it's a political comment. @ninjabhishek how many system u have made which had been used by around half a billion people (most of the countries don't even have that many users). I had only reported this issue to get it fixed but you have come to criticise the system and commenting on centre vs state. First thing people can use multiple IDs so duplicity issue might be part of requirement, secondly when these many people uses any system, many issues comes. Its better to help to get system improved, instead of criticising it. Its not some social site to make these comments what you are doing. There are many other platform for you to make such comments. It should be use to report or fix issues. I hope, now we can put this conversation to end. I would be happy to see fellow developers to help in fixing this issue to improvise it.
@GargManish Well, using multiple ID vs allowing same ID multiple times are very different terms. Also, people are not allowed to register without OTP, which means they should have a mobile phone. In India, only 1/3rd of population has access to mobile internet, so I don't think that by mandatorily asking for mobile number, you really are running this for the masses. Now, as you said this has been used by half a billion, this should make them even more careful when releasing a new feature. Do you really think you are the only one reporting this? I have seen atleast 500+ posts on this issue since yesterday on different platforms, so I think they should have rolled back this by now.
Coming to my political comment on centre vs state, what I am actually proposing is if state is arranging the stock, every state should have a platform which internally connects to the central one. This way, they wouldn't need to care for all 1.38B people at once, and the load will be devided, increasing the efficiency of the system. You took the message the wrong way is what I see. Closing this conversation now
@ninjabhishek as per records there are 760 million unique smartphone users (here feature phone has not been counted) in India so it means by their own or their close one, they have access of it. 1 phone can be used to book 4 registration so we actually have multifold of the actual no of required phones. Even at centres people are helping in registration specially for 45+. As per my point of view, its better to have a centric system so that even if people move to some other state after taking 1st dose, can appoint 2nd dose from other place, it will also help to stop duplicate registration from different state (People are already trying in nearby state for slots and its good also if their are near state border then can take benefit of it) so whosoever arrange the stock, distribution should be tracked centrally.
Users are able to register multiple times using same AADHAR number or using different identification card. On a single mobile number registration/login, itself system is allowing to register multiple times using same AADHAR number. People are exploiting this loophole and blocking slots, due to which needy people are not able to find the slots. Its also causing vaccine wastage
