Hi From where you have got the link shared by you. Is that document is valid and shared by govt officials

mohdaadilf commented 3 years ago

So in order to check availability of slots using the API, one has to be registered (with an organization)? Just... Why?

theGeekyLad commented 3 years ago

@SidKB , a quick skim of the document doesn't mandate verification for using the public APIs? Although API abuse is allegedly going to be taken up seriously.

Point 1 in Process for Access to Co-WIN (page 3), it is mentioned that all entity wishing to use cowin api including public api need to register with them and refers to annexure 3, but in annexure no registration process for public api is mentioned.

This is confusing

SidKB commented 3 years ago

@hemad1 The file hosted in https://static.mygov.in/

@hvijaycse @theGeekyLad

Step1: As part of the registration process, interested third-party organizations need to send their details (about their organization), for use of both the Public and Protected APIs to: partners@cowin.gov.in. The following details should be mentioned through official email id, by the authorised signatory of the Organization.

SidKB commented 3 years ago

Today the govt official twitted this

JnaneshPrabhu commented 3 years ago

Can you send the link of the tweet? Will this mean, we wont have access to api if we dont register? Things seems to be lil confusing

SidKB commented 3 years ago

@JnaneshPrabhu Please check the latest update section

Is there any change in the rate of calls? It used be 100 every 5 minutes and I was calling it every minute. But I'm getting code 429 since the past one hour.

theGeekyLad commented 3 years ago

@nikhilms1995 take a look here.

vishwakarmad1999 commented 3 years ago

Guys, we also opened up a thread #313 , where we wanted the @cowinapi team to listen to us. But they really didn't care at all, and after opening on spot registration for adults, now they won't even care to look at all these threads.

This is a scam of an "API", what kind of an API needs a User-Agent Change to even work? They better stop calling this an API and start labeling it as a Publicity Stunt. How is it better if Organizations have access to the "Restricted API"? There is no difference between that and bias against non-technical people. They ought to IMPLEMENT a better API & not just write a pretty-document about it and then ignore the devs

ghost commented 3 years ago

REVELING API TO PUBLIS IS ALSO OFFENCE..

Public API from Cowin gives only cached data, so may not be very accurate. Once after login you get exact availability details. I have used Public Api and developed a site for statistical analysis. http://dreamninja.shop/cowin/ I find it very difficult to use Private API's due to OTP validation and also restrictions in number of calls.
