As it appears the case that most larger Drupal installations do not use the default WYSIWYG editor, it should still be supported by the module, but apart from that the statistically most used non-default editor should be supported.
This means that -if possible- the editor indicates that images' alt text is managed through Coyote, and content editors should indicate where the image description can be managed.
