Must have secrethitler.io, Discord, and Github accounts to qualify. Your Discord account must have Two-Factor Authentication enabled. https://discordapp.com/invite/secrethitlerio

We are seeking players who are familiar with this game and its Discord server as well as the rules we have set for each.

This will be a test of your judgement and activeness. Afterwards, if deemed successful, you will be promoted to Moderator. If not, you will be removed from the Trial Moderator position.

As a Trial Moderator, you will be expected to assess player reports and determine the appropriate action and then relay your judgement to the mod team by use of a private Trial Moderator channel on Discord. You will not be taking action yourself.

Staying organized and up-to-date on issues is vital to the success of the team, so all Trial Moderators will be given access to a separate server for compiling information and screenshots.

On site, you will have limited access to Moderator tools.

You will not be expected to warn troublesome players, please leave this to Moderators if available.

You will not be expected to participate in Github issues, but bonus points if you do!

You will not be given a symbol or a special color for your username.

If you have previously been a Moderator, you may volunteer again. We have no restriction on who may apply.

If you wish to volunteer, please post your secrethitler.io and Discord usernames below and please tell us a bit about yourself and why you think you might make a good addition to our team. Thank you!

Am a very laid back person who wants to help site succeed the best it can. Trolls make me sad. I don't want to attack them but rather help them just like the player base.

Been with the community for 8 months now, very familiar with the rules, have been cooperative with the staff the last couple of weeks on some issues. Got a fetish for justice, and rules. Available always at any time, especially on discord. I have some ideas that could be beneficial to the team, and wouldn't mind sharing them if I was brought on board.

edit: Timezone is GMT-6, I live in Texas and am a freshman Poli Sci major. Experience: Moderated for several online communities, primarily in Gmod and Hidden Source. I was also Times Person of the Year in 2006. IRL experience? Cashier at a yogurt store for a year, interned for the Governor of TX during the 2018 midterms.

My mission statement is as follows: get rid of moonmen as fast as possible on the site and discord, and close/shutdown any attempted use of rule loopholes. You know me. I know you. Let's get to work, alright?

SH Account : moira Discord: ozgu#2865 haaiii. it's me moira!!! i'm on GMT+03:00 timezone, however i barely live according to it. i usually am active during the evenings and night time for my timezone. since it is my last year in university, i barely go to school and am always on my computer so being active is not an issue. i get along with most of the moderator team so i don't think i would have trouble working with them and also with most of the active players which i assume would be an advantage, so i thought why not apply for moderator. :D i played over 700 games in like 4 months and i was one of the top players of last season - ughh kinda addicted - so i'm familiar with the rules of the game quite a lot. i would like to be a mod because i'd like to help make this community a better place with my positivity (just like jules - ily jules <3). i also think since i am turkish, i would be a good help with the turkish players in the site who don't speak english. <3

SH Username: AcidDuck Discord: Ares#2812 Hey guys, I'm currently enrolled in a cybersecurity program at Champlain college and right now I'm about halfway through my sophomore year. I've recently been looking for something to throw my time at because I've found myself looking for something slightly more fulfilling to do with my free time and figured getting involved with a fun and engaging community would be a step in the right direction.

As far as experience goes I'm gonna have a tough time remembering everything with specific detail but I'll certainly try my best.

  1. In 2014 I was really involved with a large teamspeak community which pioneered the riot sponsored league of legends tournaments. They were huge back in the day and we hosted daily tournaments which awarded the top teams with riot points in game so we'd get somewhere between 150-300 people per night at our peek. I started out as a recruiter for the server so I'd basically set people up and filter out the trolls, spent a few months there being promoted to the senior position before I transfered to the moderation team where I helped out for my remaining few months as a senior mod. As a mod I'd basically spend a few days on duty per week where I would wait for people in need of moderation assistance and deal with each situation individually depending on the issue.
  2. Eventually a friend and myself decided we could set this whole thing up on our own server and we created a community of our own (I honestly can't even remember the name at this point) and wound up with riot sponsorship and peaked out at around 100 players per night before things got out of hand with a guy we asked to help us out. Long story short he wound up fucking us over and having our sponsorship revoked and took our playerbase to his own new server (I know it was super scummy).
  3. I'm just gonna lump the last category into one bulletpoint because it would take me forever to remember all of the places I helped out on. Over the course of a few years I was a moderator/administrator on a lot of different gary's mod servers ranging from a few separate TTT servers at the beginning to a pretty long time as an admin on a Dark RP server and some moderation on a military RP server.

I feel like I probably wrote way too much for that section but I just wanted to outline most of my experience so you can tell if I'd be a good fit to help out here. Some other things I glossed over, I'm currently 19 years old, living in a dorm during the college term and I love osu!. I'm on the EST time zone and am usually most active in the evenings/late night. If anyone actually read through this whole thing, thanks for the attention and I hope you guys can find some good candidates, I'm gonna go play some SH.

I don't have a strong desire to "ban all the trolls and improve the community" or anything, I'm just a person that's usually around if anything is needed.

I'm an American high school student who spends some of his freetime playing Secrethitler. Im planning to go into medical field or engineering. I like math, science, and computer programming. On SH, I will do my job as a mod, making fair unbiased choices, and not abusing my power for personal purposes. I have been playing for maybe half a year but I'd like to think of my self as a decent player, and I'm familiar with the rules and whatnot. I know alot of people on the site. very few personally, so its not like I have any bad relationships, I know the distinction between my BL and a account/IP ban. I think i would make a good addition to the team because I can tell what is throwing and what is bad playing. Also, after one point in time I stopped caring too much about other people's choices in game, so I tend not to rage or tilt often. I also like observing games and am online a decent amount of time if anything is needed, and not power-hungry. I'd also like to think of myself as more of an easy-going player, taking things more serious when they need to be taken. I don't have much of an urge to cleanse the community of trolls, but want to help in anyway possible. I wish you luck in choosing new mods. Hello, I've been with this game for 3 or so months, playing it almost everyday for about an hour, and I've really enjoyed it. I'm very familiar with the rules and often like helping moderators and report problems with the site. I can be online most weekdays around 4:00 PM EST and stay for an hour or more, and be on an hour or more on both Saturday and Sunday as well. I've used Discord since 2016 and have moderated many servers and made many active ones as well. Wanting to be a moderator is a part of me that has always wanted to ensure fairness and justice in the world, because well, Life isn't fair. So when I found my passion for the game and saw this announcement, I said why not.

Hello. I would be a good moderator because I would keep chat rooms clean and I would listen to people who seem to be complaining. I am able to see all sides of an argument, and I have a lot of experience with both the game and with moderating Discord servers.

Having played sh for the last 10 months or so I have become increasingly interesting in this game and its community. In NZ the time zone is GMT+12 so often play during the less busy times of day when there are often no mods online. Because of this, I think I would be a valuable addition to the team as I would be able to moderate the server while others are unable. Due to the extent I have played sh, I can tell the difference between an honest mistake and a troll. As a mod I hope to improve the site and its community alike. I love the SH.IO community, and I wish to give back by becoming a mod as I'm too lazy to make new emotes in MS Paint. This community is filled with wonderful people who I wish to get to know better through experience as a moderator. I have strong interpersonal skills due to my experience as a cashier at my local grocery store that can help me in dealing with people (old ladies who argue about prices, triggered children, whats the difference?)

I am on PST, and although there are already a sizeable amount of mods on that time, I can take quick action to respond to reports and other kinds of needs as I have my discord notifications on.

Having been a troll in the past, I find it easy to tell when a player is trolling as opposed to when a newbie makes a genuine mistake. I often enforce the 3 minute rule in green/grey games, and people tend to listen to me somehow, so I think I will make a solid mod.

I also think that CIA, h4r, and Silent would be excellent mod choices due to either their influence in the community or their otherwise modlike demeanor.

If I am chosen, please give Pareilia trial moderator tools, as I only use my other accounts when bored, tired, high, or a combination of all three.

Hi, I’ve been playing SH for three years now, not online but irl. I have been apart of this lovely community for a couple weeks now ever sconce I found this amazing site existed. I would be interested in becoming a mod just to help out this community as much as I can. 😁

I wasn't going to make a mod application; but I'm back, by popular demand. Just to clear up the elephant in the room. Some of you may think I'm a troll, or be concerned about the warning I got. All I can say to this is that Bone hacked my account and did all that, as Andrew knows this is definitely something Bone does. I have changed my password and enabled two factor authentication, so this never happens again. Therefore, as I am clearly not responsible for any negative actions, I would like to apply for a moderator position. I've been in the SH community longer than any of you, coming up on three years now, starting all the way back on .online. Therefore I know the game better than anyone, and hope to bring my expertise to the moderation team. You can usually find me playing the game, as I do month in and month out, keeping up with the community and ensuring motor doesn't become a school shooter. I am also good friends with the mod team, with particular shout outs to my friends Andrew, Jules and Faaiz (who I still need to talk to) (may he rest in peace).

Now, I'm sure you are wondering what I can bring to the mod team. I have a number of ideas that I want to bring to the server, however, I must get the obvious out the way first. I propose that I will continue the work of the current team, banning and warning people seemingly at random. I too will work to keep Bilal OUT of the server, to ensure he no longer has the ability to spam hundreds of bot commands in general, which, as we all know, kills thousands of poor African children. Additionally, I will ensure that the double standards and hypocrisy remain on the server, maintaining the personal fiefdom of the team that everyone loves sooooooo much. My new ideas are extensive in number and positive effect. One such idea is that of mandatory Yoga for the AEM team, to help them calm down and relax a bit and therefore be less reactionary over tiny things that have no impact.

So what are you waiting for? As an incredibly popular and beloved member of the community, I will be the greatest mod known to man. I have longevity on the server, having never 'taken a break' or quit out of the blue, so you know I'll always be around to help moderate the server, ensuring we continue to eliminate problems through the use of the ban function, ultimately creating an echo chamber of positivity. If you find yourself unable to mod me for some reason then I hope you mod my good friend CIA, as me, him, HRE and Bone constantly hang out on our own server, and I can influence him into doing my bidding.

Sneaky delete CIA, but that's fine. Also as I've said before I don't bother with friend requests, because it literally does nothing. I'm not friends on discord with half the people I could be friends with, for example: HRE, Bradly, Sale, Motor, Jsnake, bilal etc.

Heyo, I'm a 16-year-old player from Australia(GST + 10). I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not a good student, I play this game instead of listening in class because its one of the few games my prestigious school hasn't blocked. that probably undersold me, I do get good grades. I don't have much of a life so I staff on internet communities when I was younger I was mods and admins on Minecraft servers which I helped build but they have now died so I don't think I can find them anymore. I'm a great team member, I'm currently helping with a fan-game for a youtuber through discord.

I've played SH a lot (around 6 months at the point) and am familiar with the rules. I've had my fair share of experiencing some of the worst kind of people in the community (trolls, spammers and tons of rage quitters) and honestly, I'd love to be a mod because I think I help this community and make it more safe for new and old players to enjoy a great game.

im a neuropsychology student in canada and im super smart and really intellectual at that 🤠 i work at a mental health institution which is one of the most sophisticated in my city, which is huge btw. i treat fucked up people on a daily basis, and as a result, i am very familiar with how to deal with people who possibly are less sane than others (hence why i am married to hre).

im really familiar with people on the server and know basically everyone and whether or not they’re cool or not and im also hella active. the reason why i know them all isn’t because im active though, it’s because i have kids with every single one of the regulars on the server so it’s kind of hard not to communicate with them lmao.

im also mUlTiLinGuaL if that’s a thing bc i can speak so many languages it’s pretty much insane i can speak fluent french english german latin american canadian colombian spanish hebrew xhosa russian swedish (hiii sale ily2) and arabic. also my bf bone taught me how to hack into accounts and whatever so technically i am fluent in hacker code or whatever the fuck it is i didn’t pay that much attention in computing class and then everyone stood up and clapped

im also in the very wonderful time zone of GMT-5 in the wonderful province of québec yeet. however im literally always online because i never sleep im almost always awake so it just makes me 10x more active ngl. if im not online, im at mcdonalds.

furthermore i think that i am very likEaBle so people won’t #hatemeasmod which could cut some of the hate AEM might get if you allowed someone as duMb as hre to be a mod.

im very responsible and have been a mod on a server before and im also very anti-moonman lol. my priorities would be to #stopthetrolls and #makeshioasaferplace. also because i know how to hack i could basically just hack all the hackers it’s a bit easy all you have to do is just ask hre to send u pics of his weak af eyebrows, u dm them to the hackers and they basically just disappear after a while because they’re so afraid

okay all jokes aside i really do enjoy the community and i think it’s really important to ensure that it’s always nice and safe for everybody on the discord so plssss consider me as a mod

Hey! I'm rsarvar(1/2)a, the self-acclaimed "legendary" -400 ELO tilter with the fantastic cardbacks. And no, I don't own that guitar.

I'm a Computer Science and Mathematical Physics student at an Ontario university in Canada, and whatever time I'm not studying or in class, I'm either found playing Secret Hitler with friends, lurking online watching games on secrethitler.io, or sitting in (and losing) those very games. While I'm new to the site itself (I joined in late October of 2018), I'm a Secret Hitler veteran and have played (up to about) thousands of games of the physical game, as well as on Tabletop Simulator, with friends throughout the years. I think that most importantly, I think I understand why the game gets people so riled up, and I've learned how to stop it from destroying friendships.

I have some experience with managing report systems, as I used to practically live on the Town of Salem trial system a while back. I also have a lot of experience with managing moderate-sized Discord servers (of about 100-200 people each) in the past, as I used to run a type of NationStates-inspired diplomacy and grand strategy game that required the servers to run as smoothly as possible in order for the game to progress as intended. I have experience dealing with complicated and sometimes chaotic conflicts between players and observers alike, and I've improved at finding ways to resolve conflicts in the most utilitarian ways possible, so that the least amount of people are pissed off.

I'm at GMT -5:00, which is EST, but I'm not exactly great at living in harmony with my timezone. I can be found on the site at pretty much any time of day or night (who needs sleep anyways?) and so I'd be quite available to provide time zone coverage to a Trial Moderator team. I know from experience that sometimes you run into rage-inducing situations when there's no mod around on secrethitler.io or Discord, and things can get a little hot-blooded.

My focus as a report-assessing mod would be to isolate the trolls from the players that make genuine mistakes or that let their emotions get out of hand. I'd want to be able to help guide the genuine players away from actions that cause conflict and ruin everyone's day, and get them integrated into the crowd of regulars; on the other hand, I would flag throwers and trolls by determining their actions to be malicious.

I'd just like to say that I think Artie should add more to this. This is just because, he has the right qualities for the role of a mod but he's not mentioning them. But I'll go ahead and say this. I did not see the old CIA/Artie so I don't know what he was like in the past. But what I've seen from him doesn't sound like whatever this 'old CIA' was. He seems like a kindhearted and calm person which I think are two very important qualities. He's also nice and fun to play bonk with and he doesn't seem toxic/angry in the slightest, even when I am kicking his ass in a game because I'm the best. He's a fun person and I think he'd be good for the community as I often see that he's online on the Discord.

Decently disagreeing, I could name 20 instances where the "recent Artie" decided not to help people but even making fun of them. (And No, math homeworks dont count). Which lead me to the statement, that there are plenty of others worthful to be a Moderator + actually trying to help other people.

Hi, my name is Lynn, and I'm a Korean student studying in an international school. I discovered this secret Hitler board game by a friend pulling out this board game at a birthday party. I really enjoyed playing with it and I constantly asked my friends to play it but they didn't seem that interested. So I began looking at ways to play it and that's how I discovered this site. At first, it seemed scary because it was foreign, everybody was from different countries, and everyone seemed to know each other. But as I gradually played more and more games, there was this adrenaline rush from figuring who were fascists and attempting(very poorly)social read and making schemes as a fascist to get Hitler elected. When I was a noob I didn't know who to go for help when someone afked/spammed like crazy/threw my games but with the help of mods, I got through of those easily. I became more and more interested in mods after playing more games with Manu(he would always take care of the afkers and force vote). When I got bored of SH, I scrolled through grey games where I wasn't known and I warned people who used banned words and those who were attempting afk and if they did I called mod support in SH. It normally worked but sometimes they just rmked before a mod could get to them. It was a good feeling, stopping others who were making other players unhappy. When I was a fresh young lad, I didn't know about mod support so I just ended up texting other moderators and probably annoyed them in the process because it wasn't in their time zone. It's a good feeling, solving a messy game and getting thanked by other people who were being bothered by that one player. I know that I have both good and bad moments but I hope that people will see the good and I'll be more careful as a moderator if I do become one and show my best sides. When I imagine myself as a mod I think I would have a certain schedule in the game where I would scroll down the site and check rooms. I just really enjoy the game overall and love the community because there are such good people such as naizea, bandch, manu, and motor and so on and so forth. They really cheer my day up and I want other people to have good experiences as well in SH. If I become a moderator I'll mostly look for afkers and spambots. I am also willing to learn coding and other technical languages if I do become one. I'm up for learning anything as long I can be in this community. I understand that there are probably more people who are more qualified people than me but it's very blissful if I think about it. I'd also like to vouch for rsarv or artie because they're both decent people. I haven't played a lot with rsarv but he's very calm on most situations and artie because he makes people laugh and helped me on my math homework. Thank you all. <3

Sorry I'm a bit late as I've been less active recently but I'll at least throw in my name for consideration again this time too. As I stated last time, I have plenty of experience as a moderator on other sites and also have a deep passion for the game and to see it's community improve. I am always awake at odd hours due to my job, since I work B-shift and often find myself online when no other moderators are on.

I should mention that I don't currently have 2FA activated on my Discord account, as I would prefer to turn it on only after I receive confirmation that I will become a moderator. If this disqualifies me please let me know and I'll turn it on right away.

Also, I haven't been active on my main account for a while but I usually am playing on an alternative account (so while it may look as if I haven't visited the site for a few months, I'm actually active there most days)

Heyo, I'm 19 and I study Psychology and I like sleeping. I'm very aware of the rules of the game and the site and I've been playing Secret Hitler for a while now. Probably over 500-600 games? I'm unsure as to the exact number. I'm pretty chilled and laid back but I think I can judge a situation well when it comes to if someone is breaking the rules or acting overly unfair/rude in a situation. I'm from the UK also but I'm on at random times, sometimes at night, so I'm pretty sure I could help out at times when other moderators aren't online. I'm not very active on the discord in general chat but I'm able to answer DMs/Pings almost instantly, so I could be helpful that way if anyone needs help. I'm pretty sure all the mods like me, or at least can stand me, besides from maybe 1. I'm unsure shrug. I've also spent time making Emojis for the game so I am pretty invested and want to make the community better if possible.

I am an old regular on the site, but I had a break until couple months ago. I get along with people well, as long as they accept that I dont sugarcoat things. I probably played and observed more games than most people on the site. I am a boss of my own time, so I can be free whenever.

I dont really have moderating experience, but I have had an experience with organising things irl( like sports competitions) , leading multiple online game comunities in warcraft and leading several guilds to victory in web based games like travian and tribal wars.

I live my life the way I want and the way I wont regret anything.

I've been playing this game for a few months now, and really enjoy playing. I would like to apply for moderator. I have experience with moderation from 5 Discord servers, 3 as a moderator, one as an admin and i run my own server as well. I get along with everyone just fine. I go by the saying "treat others they way you want to be treated", so i won't instantly flip piss, i'd do my best to handle and defuse situations

I am a bit on the younger side (still in HS), but i got involved with this game when a friend of mine introduced me, and after my first few matches, i really quite enjoyed it. History is one of my favorite subjects, and seeing how this game is related to a real life event, it really got me interested.

Hi, I'm Adam. I've been playing SH for over a year now (though I've since forgotten the account I previously used... probably some variation of my github username), and I now use the adam account! I play regularly, especially when I'm not programming, and I'm very familiar with the rules of the game and SH's community. I love observing games & have made quite a few friends from SH. I'm also familiar with the discord server. I think my temperament and aforesaid experience would make me a good moderator. In addition to that, I've also been combing the source code and hope to soon contribute to the repo (though Kotlin is my main language, for now), which I hope shows you how much I enjoy this game and that I'd like to help make it better.

I'm UTC-5, though I'm usually up at most hours of the day (sleep is for the weak o/).

Hello I'm Jake...from State Farm..at 3am https://discord.gg/tB3Rjwa I have been playing on SH.IO for about 6 months now and have been playing on almost daily basis for about 3-4 months. I love the game and have always loved other social games like diplomacy and treason-coup. Eventually somewhere in those six months I saw this discord and have checked it trying to see if I can find out whats in the next update almost everyday. I look at the commits the pulse and the network just to see if I can get that little edge in finding something new. I was so sad when loveoken's emotes: https://github.com/cozuya/secret-hitler/pull/1035/commits/4a9c6a6317c33a6d503719ac665977f08e2d6a19 didn't release with fas frown and lib frown. I would love to become a mod since I can still play the game yet contribute to it in some way without having to write mindbogglingly large lines of code like hexicube did for the custom games. I really don't have any qualifications besides being active and enthusiastic about the the game.

Since everyone else is doing it i guess my time zone is UTC -6 but I play at random times so that really means nothing.

I am also the guy who found out how to get a gif as a card back. It was that blue background with that blinking eye.

I've been playing Secret Hitler for a long time, but I've only recently joined the community. (maybe a month or two). I'd say I'm pretty good at the game, and I can tell the difference between a bad player and a game thrower. There have been many games where I've seen people claim to have cheaters, toxic players, gamethrowers etc., but from 11:00PM EST to 3:00AM EST there aren't many moderators on to deal with issues like these. I think I could moderate games around this time period, not only to help these people out, but to make sure that there's always a moderator on at any point in the day.

I was formerly a moderator of the Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes Discord server. I mostly managed the multiple manuals that needed to be uploaded to the site, as well as provided Spanish translations for many of the modded manuals. I chose to leave my position after personal issues came up.

I'm also willing to learn more about the game and moderation of the game, not just the players and lobbies themselves. (Possibly the coding/programming behind it)

Shun said I should apply so I could help him fight injustice and stuff, so here we go... I have absolutely 0 experience on GitHub. I just made an account so I could apply for mod and create a Justice Leage mod team with Shun (and to be closer to Manu <3 ). I've only played SH for 2 months.

I am 27 y.o., I live in Denmark (it's in Scandinavia btw, the eternal cold countries with the vikings, GMT +1) and I like board games. I rarely got enough people to play SH with me, so I found the online version and now I'm online most of the day. ^_^ DM me if you want to see my board game collection. <3 I am studying Biotech engineering (I have a freezer with genetically modified HIV, don't mess with me) and... uh... I have a dog and a kid, so I am well equipped to deal with spontanous tantrums and ragers. What else is there to say? Eh... well.. sometimes I chat just to chat. I like chatting.

I apply mainly to deal with reports and I have a 0 policy towards harassment. When I started playing, I found that there can be too much toxicity in the community and I'd like to encourage a better tone between players (even though I'm not gonna pretend to be a saint, I do get mad sometimes myself). When I first started, I didn't unterstand the High Elo aspect of the game but somehow I found myself being yellow and suddenly a lot of people flamed me for not understanding the game. But Manu stood up for me as a mod in game and tried to teach me out of the game, and even though I tease him a lot, I really appreciated it, and I think I just want to do for others what Manu did for me.
