I want to add the ability to play Avalon SH on the site.

What is it?

Avalon SH is normal SH with roles from avalon added in. At a basic level, it adds in a new liberal role, Merlin, who knows who all of the fascists are (but not who hitler is). At the end, if the liberals win the game normally, the fascists get to guess who Merlin is. If they guess correctly, the fascists win the game. Additionally, you can add in Percival, a liberal role who is given two merlin candidates, one of which the real Merlin, the other Morgana, a regular fascist who is the fake Merlin, but doesn't know which is which.

Also, you can add in rules like no topdecking, which means when you nein 3 govs in a row the fascists win the game.

Okay but why?

The mode has proved to be very popular, as it adds a new layer of depth while being very simple to explain and understand. It is played relatively frequently, more than other custom modes, and was played in the last SH tournament. However, there's a major problem with playing it, which is that you need a moderator who is not playing the game, which is error prone and makes it harder to run games.

Features

• A new toggle in the create game menu for avalon SH. Enabling this would bring up another toggle as to whether to add Percival or not. I don't think this should be under the custom game menu, but enabling this option should force it to be a casual game.
• Another option for no topdecking, orthogonal to the avalon SH option. That is, you can make a normal SH game with no topdecking if you want, which will also be casual.
• The new roles, Merlin, Morgana and Percival.
• The addition of the assassination phase after a liberal win, where one of the fascists will click on a liberal to shoot them and win the game if they are merlin. Anyone will be able to talk during this phase.
• Allowing support for avalon SH games in replays.

Moderation Changes

Since avalon SH games are casual, there wouldn't need to be any changes to gameplay moderation. However, liberals should be allowed to leave during the assassination phase, as their participation in the game is over.

• Should the options be under the custom game menu?
• Should there be a timer during assassination?

Future Additions

• Other roles from avalon, such as Mordred, Oberon and lovers.

Cool idea. This wouldn't be SUPER hard with the way the front end works, you could recycle most elements like clicking to vote etc. You'd have to spend a decent amount of time on the "board" though. Back end would take significant work though.

I really like this too - and would love to help guide it come to fruition. Do you intend to work on it yourself, or is it something you'd just like to see happen? If it's the latter - I do honestly think it could be a neat thing to work on (and I might look into it early next year).
