Add an elo maximum to elo slider games #991

Title says it all.

Allows orange-only games, green-yellow only games, green to pink only games, etc. There's an elo minimum slider right now but no elo maximum limit. One downside is that lobbies take longer to fill.

I'd support this. Seems like games would be fairer when the rank variance of games is lower.

is this a big problem? IDK I mean uh I try to avoid as much as possible ways for player to gatekeep other players other than you know blacklist 😑

I think it is a nice feature. It is common for high elo player coming on green tables to farm elo. Also, personally, I am at the level that I am out of the green zone but not too good for the purple tables. Thus, I would like to have a table where I can set a min elo to have a more experienced table, but also a max elo so I can play with people closer to my level.

virtually every competitive online game that I play tries to have a matchmaking system to pair you with players of a similar skill level & rank. in a perfect matchmaking system, you should trend toward a 50% winrate. Is there a justification for why an ELO minimum should exist but a maximum should not? I feel that any principle that applies to one should also logically apply to the other. It is very frustrating to have bad teammates that throw your matches (hence ELO minimum); it is also equally frustrating to try to have a "mid tier only" match just to get smurfed by purples (hence ELO maximum).

No one said this isn't a good idea, hell even Nth said it was good. It's just a matter of someone doing it and maintaining user choice/amount of available games. It's not exactly a super pressing or consistently requested feature, sadly.

Edit: I do think for this to be viable, both elo min and max should get some tweaking to prevent witch hunted lobbies, i.e. changing it such that the steps are larger than the status quo of 1, maybe 25, maybe 50.
