This is a minor issue: it relates to the ESGF paths in the handle records. The file path may not reflect latest version ... e.g. https://handle-esgf.dkrz.de/lp/21.14100/313e3b9c-83aa-4a1a-8a01-5416390208ee has 20190815 in the original data file path and 20190920 in the dataset version. File not available at given link today: http://noresg.nird.sigma2.no/thredds/fileServer/esg_dataroot/cmor/CMIP6/CMIP/NCC/NorESM2-LM/piControl/r1i1p1f1/day/pr/gn/v20190815/pr_day_NorESM2-LM_piControl_r1i1p1f1_gn_18710101-18801231.nc

Ping response of server is OK ... so maybe there is a serious issue underneath.
