Weight multiplier for different device type #12

  1. Section 2.1 of draft-cprigf-bmwg-pwoerbench said: “ Bi is the weighted multiplier for different traffic levels (note that B1+...+Bj+...+Bm = 1)

” In the above statement, the Weight factor/weight multiplier is unspecified, according to ETSI specification, 3 weight multipliers have been specified as follows: i.e., B1=01, B2=0.8, B3=0.1 but in ITU-T L.1310, different weight multipliers are specified for router, switch, optical devices respectively i.e., a=0.15, b=0.25, c=0.15, d=0.45 Do we need to specify them for different device type?

I am not sure what is best. Fundamentally, it does not matter for establishing the benchmark procedure; it's just about processing the measurement results. I think we could already say in the draft that multiple sets of weights have been proposed (with the corresponding references) and that we do not yet know which one(s) to use.

We can just give some examples of the weights, but, I think, our draft does not need to specify it and we can leave the choice to the testers.
