FR-018-004 [lib] Wording cleanup #420

Closed wg21bot closed 1 year ago

wg21bot commented 1 year ago

A number of wording cleanup have been written targeting C++20 and C++23. As these do not affect C++ programs in any way, we think it's important that this cleanups paper be considered, providing LWG has sufficient time, as it helps maintain the clarity of the specification.

Please consider adopting P0571 "Type Requirements for <numeric> Algorithms", P1264 "Revising the wording of stream input operations", and P2150 "Down with typename in the Library!" for C++23.

P0571 Type Requirements for Algorithms was quickly reviewed in Kona. The paper needs updates to the current draft and also has some issues. Feedback has been provided to the author.

Leaving open because P1264P2 only partially addresses this.

Issaquah meeting is the end for updates to c++23 -- here is the status pre-meeting:

Thus having adopted the one paper we can, LWG will take no further action for c++23.

Accepted with modifications.

Paper P1264 "Revising the wording of stream input operations" was adopted; the other two papers were not ready in time to be adopted.
