Sundarpatan (can't play the game like at all now) #25

Edit: solved

Edit: Possibly solved, see 2nd comment.

I tried using the latest prerelease of deca to extract the files and replace all those in the org directory for modbuilder. Now none of my mods work :/ I have a special needs daughter that makes it so I literally have to hop off the game at a second's notice and so playing unmodded is really difficult. I've had to uninstall all of the mods to be able to play, which effectively means I can't really play.

If you can find any time at all to let us know if this is a project you'd like to continue, that would be appreciated. If you have a patreon or anything of the sort, I would be willing to donate.

Best wishes Daniel / Giftig

There's no need to do anything to the files. I'm using the old version and All the Skill mods work, along with the extra cash mod and the rest mod. Stay away from the store and weapon mods, they will break the game. Either that or learn how to mod the files directly for yourself.

So my problem was that I needed to restart my computer. I imagine some asset was being used and I didn't realize it.

I have modded speed (1.5x all), skills (soft feet, steady hands both slightly more effective), perk (pack mule to 30kg), render distance (415 spawn, 475 despawn), weapon ammo (.22LR classes 1 & 2, .308 classes 3-8), deployables(x4), ATV (speed and animal senses), removed intro, reduce sleep cost...

All are working. I just tested the new .300AR and it works now too, for the first time ever with mods.

Going to do some more testing tomorrow, maybe. I work 14 hours every Friday.

Edit if this proves working I think I'll upload my org folder to nexus so people can download it to their modbuilder, with the disclaimer that I didn't do the work other than extracting it.

Just adding what I've mentioned elsewhere. It looks to be a case that some of the files never changed (possibly skill based ones, as no skills were added?), so some mods will still work. Some of the files were updated, and just updating the modbuilder's corresponding files will fix that. The main problem is if the files were updated in an unexpected way, like they moved locations, or got split out into multiple files. In these cases, even updating those files into the modbuilder won't help, as the modbuilder needs a programmatic update to be told how to handle those changes.

many, not all, of the mods will work for sundapatan as long as you don't use increase render distance. that is the simple option.

m0nk3yuk's option, as explained here [https://github.com/cpypasta/cotw-mod-builder/issues/23#issuecomment-2181620349] is much more "complicated" but really a much better option. unfortunately it is too complicated for me, but i have next to no computer skills and lack the confidence to just give these things a go.

I have used deca to extract all the files from the modbuilder\org folder and then rebuilt my mods. Every mod I've tested works, including 300AR, pistols, render distance, speed, etc.

FIX FOR SUNDARPATAN, as well as pistols/300AR/10SA and speed/render distance/wobble.

I went ahead and extracted all of the files needed for modbuilder to build all mods from the Sundarpatan update using the pre-release of Deca and every modification I've tested works with Sundarpatan, including speed/render/wobble and I can now use the 300AR. I uploaded my extracted files at https://www.nexusmods.com/thehuntercallofthewild/mods/367/. Follow the instructions there to use Mod Builder.

disclaimer: I am not a modder, followed the example of M0nk3yUK and just did it for all the files in the \org\ folder. Every mod I've made works.
