10 years ago May not be so easy. There's very little in standard Markdown to go with, and if we start using the extensions it's more complicated, as we should then support at least two of them (GitHub and Pandoc).
Probably based on the reStructuredText plugin, but maybe we can find a way to make the output of the rst plugin compatible with md, so we don't even have to add a new plugin, just add a new extension to the same plugin.
