Currently the plugins have a user friendly name and a description. It may be a good idea to also have a help message, to explain how to use the plugin, if something needs to be configured or not, what configuration options are available, and what does every argument mean. Not all options need to be described to the user, though.
Right now all that information is present in the form of commends in the plugin descriptor files, but users aren't likely to notice. :(
