ATD Utility Disk #1

Hello, I wasn't sure how best to let you know this, feel free to close this issue.

I was attempting to restore my Xerox 6060 (multiple hardware issues that I have had little luck in fixing), and I was looking to find more information on the memory expansion card that came with it. I have a ATD Model 119, and your project came up. The 119 is luckily very similar to your 117, except I think the 119 has an optional clock/calendar chip that uses a Dallas-like chip (mine was unpopulated). I'm blown away by the work you did in reverse-engineering your board, well done!

I discovered I have a copy of a utilities disk that came with my card. It doesn't appear to have anything specific to my model, with the exception of extra utilities for the clock chip. I suspect they produced many models that are nearly identical. I've uploaded the disk image and an extract of the files to the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/atd_20231114

Included on that disk is an interactive guide on how to populate and configure the card. I used PCjs to check it out (https://www.pcjs.org/machines/pcx86/att/6300/cga/)

I'd thought I'd let you know, hopefully you find it useful.

This is incredibly interesting! Thank you for your effort in preserving the disks. This is a useful addition to the project, even just as an anecdote/epilogue after the fact. Even if your disk tells you all the information I RE'd from this card, certainly I don't regret REing the card at this point:

I'll keep this issue open until I can figure out how to incorporate your experiences/software into the project (maybe a blog post or something).

I have a ATD Model 119, and your project came up.

Where did you hear about it? Just a Google search or similar, or word-of-mouth?

A long amount of Googling came across this post: https://cohost.org/cr1901/post/156805-reverse-engineering which lead me here.

I'd like to clarify that I did use your RE'd info at first, because I didn't realize I had the disk. I then found a webpage that had an old ebay listing of a new-old-stock Model 119 that showed a manual and disk, then it jived my memory on what I had. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/atd-zuckerboard-expansion-memory-half-1947576647

Ahhh, so these were sold under the brand name "Zuckerboard", and "ATD" stands for "Advanced Transducer Devices".

I've archived a few links of interest (including your Worthpoint post):

Apparently, this is the same Zucker as in "Zuckerboard". Interesting :P: https://web.archive.org/web/20231115213101/https://www.justice.gov/usao-co/pr/husband-and-wife-sentenced-tax-charges-and-ordered-pay-irs-nearly-700000-taxes

Wow great finds!

Now we know what happened to the famous Dr. Dr. Zucker, lol.
