Link to scan for cenid 18xx:1481 #206

From this page:

https://polishscores.humdrum.org/?id=18xx:4181

There is a link to PMS scan page:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12212-contredanses-no-2/1/1#nomenu

But there seems to be a problem with that page since the user is taken to this page:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/error

Searching through the PMS website, I find that this is the correct URL for the scan:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12211-contredanses-no-2/1

So musical work number 12211 rather than 12212.

I changed the entries for cenid 18xx:1481 on the spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cEE6zs7u3g9mjUsr7jcUusnbp2eIkYyqsMFastC78-c/edit#gid=979339889

Fixing scan number in columns X (Repozytorium (link do zasobu)) and AA (URL-scan).

The next time the scores are updated, this link should work.

Any other indexes that use this number should also be fixed.

The title of this work in the spreadsheet is "Contredanse No 2". More exact title would be

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12211-contredanses-no-2/1#nomenu

Screen Shot 2022-11-30 at 4 02 47 PM

Six Contradances Française No. 2

And this current work is the second one:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12211-contredanses-no-2/2#nomenu

Screen Shot 2022-11-30 at 4 08 10 PM

The subtitle should be L'Eté.

URLs on polish.musicsources.pl have a title added after the ID: https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12212-**contredanses-no-2**/1

Those titles are not necessary - https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12212/1 also works.

The problem is the web interface of polishscores.org checks if there's a scan number at the end of the URL. If title is included the interface gets lost, and adds unnecessary suffix to the link (/1#nomenu).

I try to remember not to add the title to the URL when adding new entries to the spreadsheet, but this one I probably skipped.

Any way, both 12211 and 12212 are valid Ids, and in this particular case I need to check, which is corresponding to the score.

There are four entries on PMS for this volume consisting of two separate physical objects, both of which are duplicated:

First physical copy, with duplicate: https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12211/2#nomenu https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12212/2#nomenu

Another copy, with a duplicate (which has a water stain): https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12213/2#nomenu https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12214/2#nomenu

So 12211 and 12212 are scans of exact the same physical object, and I am wondering why it is duplicated (I think they are also the same scan files).

Also, if there is more than one physical copy of the same edition, it would be good to have this information in the POPC2 spreadsheet, and this would perhaps result in two scan links displayed on the website for the transcription (at least in this case where it is expected that the two physical copies are the exact same print).

The scan link on the page:

https://polishscores.humdrum.org/?id=18xx:4181

Now goes to:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/lokalizacje/galeria/druki-muzyczne/12212/1#nomenu

(without the extra /1 added). How was that fixed? (I didn't fix it).

Somewhat related:

Here is a photograph of Filipina that could be created into a composer thumbnail image for POPC2/PMP/PMS, etc.:

The image would go into this directory for use on https://polishscores.org:

You are right - these are duplicates. They were created probably during the upload of the data from the repository system to our database - I will investigate what happened. In the repository system, there's only one item for each of those sources:

Also, if there is more than one physical copy of the same edition, it would be good to have this information in the POPC2 spreadsheet, and this would perhaps result in two scan links displayed on the website for the transcription (at least in this case where it is expected that the two physical copies are the exact same print).

I think we could try to use the RISM ID number for that: in this case 1001161929:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/en/szukaj/values?keyword=&search_fields=%5B%7B%22field%22%3A30%2C%22contains%22%3A1%2C%22field_text%22%3A%221001161929%22%7D%5D

PMS gives all four copies of the print. I can ask Robert, whether it is possible to search through the database by RISM ID using his API - if so, it should be fairly easy to display all copies of the same print in PMS.

Last week I was fixing PMS URLs containing titles after the ID of the source. Then I used Makefile to put the changes to the files, but I didn't update the files on the server (I'm still a bit afraid that I'll break something). Now you updated the files, and the URL became valid again.

Here is a photograph of Filipina that could be created into a composer thumbnail image for POPC2/PMP/PMS, etc.:

I added brzezinska.png to img/composer directory. I also added filename in the spreadsheet.

Brzezińska

There are some entries in Composers spreadsheet that have URL to the portrait image, but there's no png file prepared for the purposes of the polishscores.org - I will work on that soon.

jacekiwaszko1 commented 1 year ago

I added some new portraits to the img/composer directory, and to the spreadsheet:

argell, bach, bellini, beyer, chwatal, galuppi, himmel, hummel, karlowicz, kazynski, kreutzer, kucken, kuhlau, lodwigowski, lohelius, maldere, manna, mlynarski, otto, porpora, porta-giovanni, sammartini, tarnowski, triebensee, wagenseil, weber, wladyslaw-z-gielniowa, zaleski

Somewhat related, there is no composer information for "Smacierzyński" although there is one score for this composer: https://polishscores.org/?id=18xx:1161

The RISM ID for this composer is empty on the composer spreadsheet:

Screen Shot 2022-12-03 at 3 32 50 PM

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cEE6zs7u3g9mjUsr7jcUusnbp2eIkYyqsMFastC78-c/edit#gid=1259530601

And the reason is that s/he is not in the RISM database.

Entry for the work in RISM: https://rism.online/sources/300001521

This entry says that the composition is by W. S[zlagórskiego (W. Szlagórsky) rather than "Smacierzyński"

Also note that column B of the spreadsheet has the RISM IDs with a pe prefix (pe = person ID).

Screen Shot 2022-12-03 at 3 40 33 PM

These should not be entered as plain text, but rather a hyperlink equation:

Screen Shot 2022-12-03 at 3 42 15 PM
= HYPERLINK("https://rism.online/people/30020315"; "pe30020315")

There were about 10 plain text entries which I converted to hyperlink equations.
