Complete fill-in of links to scans in metadata spreadsheet to scans #216

On pages such as:

There is no link to the scan of the source edition (on the right side under the library siglum/shelfmark).

This sort of information should be complete on the metadata spreadsheet, which is empty for this score (and others nearby):

In addition, links to the exact page in the scan should be encoded in the scan links so that a work/movement has a direct link to the start of the music in a scan that has multiple works/movements. For example:

https://polishscores.org/?id=16xx:1649

has links to each of the four parts that form the score:

While (all of?) Marenzio has a single link to a 732 page scan of a volume containing all partbooks:

https://polishscores.org/?id=15xx:989

Link to scan goes to first page of scan:

https://polish.musicsources.pl/pl/lokalizacje/galeria/klocki-introligatorskie/655/1#nomenu

It is not very useful to have such a link, since it would take quite a lot of time to find the desired page.

This information is found in the Uwagi column in the spreadsheets:

but it cannot be reliably extracted automatically (so must be done by hand).

When an IIIF encoding has been done to a score, I can automatically generate links to the first pages of each part, or to the desired page of a movement/work in a multi movement/work scan. (So an alternative would be to do IIIF encoding for all scores). The tooltip text and translations would still need to be added by hand in these cases. So I could create a script to generate the lines for and IIIF score, and then that can be copied into the spreadsheet and the tooltip titles can be added by hand at the same time.

Hi Craig,

There is no link to the scan of the source edition (on the right side under the library siglum/shelfmark).

There are still a lot of scans from WTM that we didn't publish on polish.musicsources.pl - they were made in 2017, as far as I know, so before POPC projects started. We will upload them eventually, but we have to find a way to extend the disk space on our servers.

... While (all of?) Marenzio has a single link to a 732 page scan of a volume containing all partbooks:

Marenzio is definitely one of the most urgent cases where links to the first page of the source are not enough. I will start to work on adding URLs to the spreadsheet. There are also some big partbooks from Kraków that would require more precise links (including Kk.I.2 containing piece by Senfl).
