Thanks, Achim, for performing this update on the MedicalImaging task view. I've pushed a minor edit, otherwise I'm reasonably happy with the content as is. One question, the package = "core"
input parameters... are those still necessary/recommended?
Regarding co-maintainers, great idea! What is the process? Let's say I contact some people and at least one of them agree to be a co-maintainer, do I have the authority to add him/her to the repository or is there a more formal process?
Brandon, thanks for the update. A couple of comments:
Brandon @bjw34032, is there any follow-up on this? We really want to switch to the new CRAN workflow soon so it would be great if you could address the most important changes as soon as possible, thanks.
Brandon has invited me to join as co-maintainer, and I'm happy to work on an update in the next couple of days to try to pull in some of the other relevant packages.
Jon @jonclayden welcome on board! This would be great, thanks a lot!
Oh, and feel free to post here if you need any feedback or comments.
Achim @zeileis, yes, we will do our best to provide the updates you have suggested. I am also actively searching for additional co-maintainers.
@zeileis Thanks! I'll put the update into a PR to give you both a chance to review it
FYI, John @muschellij2 has also accepted my invitation to be a co-maintainer. Welcome, John!
Three is much better than one and if anyone would like to suggest another one or two people, don't be shy :)
Great, welcome on board, @muschellij2 !
Thanks, everybody, for your work on getting this task view into shape for the next release. It's "Public" now and listed on the main ctv page.
Thanks for including me. I’ll take a look at it later today.

Should the live task view now be synced with this repo? The date seems to have been updated at https://cran.r-project.org/view=MedicalImaging, but the content is the same as it was.
We cannot switch the generation of the HTML pages on CRAN on a view by view basis. We need to switch the entire workflow for all task views simultaneously. Hence we have been chasing all maintainers over the last weeks to bring their views into shape for this. The MedicalImaging task view was one of the last to become ready but unfortunately still not the last. Hopefully we can switch next week.
Ah, understood. Thanks for clarifying, Achim.
Format: We have converted the old XML-based task views file now to the new Markdown-based format. Please check the resulting .md file whether everything is in order or some corrections/improvements are needed. See the corresponding documentation for more details.
Update: This would also be a good time to check the entire task whether it is up to date and correct. A write-up of the general goals and content guidelines is now summarized in the workflow for proposing new task views (which was not yet available when you authored your task view). Improving your task view to conform more closely with these goals and guidelines, if necessary, would be highly appreciated.
Co-maintainers: In particular, we strongly encourage that all task views not only have a principal maintainer but also 1-5 co-maintainers in order to get more inspirations for extensions/improvements and share the maintenance workload. So please try to extend the list of co-maintainers, ideally also including female contributors and generally involving persons with diverse backgrounds.
