Format checking has been performed.
Update: We are currently coordinating within the team for this. I think that this will result in a major correction of the TV. @zeileis :
are we allowed to modify the README file in the repository for an Rmd
file also performing the compilation of the source file and the different checks (a bit similar to this one: https://github.com/R-miss-tastic/missing-data-taskview/blob/master/Readme.Rmd) in order to encourage contributors to perform the same before submitting pull requests?
are we allowed to add general policy recommendations for package inclusion (like encouraging not to include very recent packages) in the TV? There are many packages that include some methods to handle missing data and I am a bit afraid that we have many uninteresting contributions to review.
Thanks, Nathalie @tuxette !
The README.md
should apply the same policy for all task views in order to be fair and transparent across task views. Thus, if a document is modified, then it should be Contributing.md in the main ctv
repository. Feel free to suggest an additional text for pull requests to be included there.
The inclusion/exclusion criteria should be stated in the task view itself, typically in the introduction or sometimes in certain subsections. For example, see the Econometrics task view that points to the Finance
, SocialSciences
, and TimeSeries
task views both in the introduction as well as in some sections.
@zeileis : I think we're done with this issue. Please, can you confirm that I can close the issue and make that repository public? Thanks!
Great, thanks, everyone! I've made the project public, included it on the main ctv page, and I'm closing this issue now.
Format: We have converted the old XML-based task views file now to the new Markdown-based format. Please check the resulting .md file whether everything is in order or some corrections/improvements are needed. See the corresponding documentation for more details.
Update: This would also be a good time to check the entire task whether it is up to date and correct. A write-up of the general goals and content guidelines is now summarized in the workflow for proposing new task views (which was not yet available when you authored your task view). Improving your task view to conform more closely with these goals and guidelines, if necessary, would be highly appreciated.
