4 years ago also, large amounts of data are being generated, however, some data is not saved, some does not make it easily into MER systems and much is not acted on to change treatment methods.
As there will be an overload on the medical system, many devices which are not naturally compatible (or are non-networked) will be used. there is a need for connecting all such devices to a common data system. this may include direct connection to EMR, but also indirect connection, such as imaging displays and applying OCR on the image.
