glibc and forkpty tests were broken
fixed inclusion of libatomic when using glibc
removed -Wno-unused-value and fixed broken code that was generating these warnings
removed -Wno-builtin-declaration-mismatch
removed -D_POSIX_SOURCE ; -D_GNU_SOURCE gets us what we need
