Fix revive/nosnakecase findings #25

This PR changes a bunch of variable names (ugh) and uses more testify.

Also, nosnakecase is now deprecated and all of the findings are found by revive.

I reverted the changes to q_m_j and q_j. We can change that later if we choose to.
