hi @michaeldinzinger and thanks for your contribution. As a rule. I'd rather have one PR per issue so that they can be reviewed and merged in isolation. I will change the title so that is links to the issues + it impacts not just Ignite but other implementations as well. The Ignite implementation has not been used as much as the RocksDB one and is certainly work in progress so that it is great that it is getting some attention.

To preserve a traceable commit history and to keep the issues in separate PR, I will now close this PR and create three new ones.
