MicMute doesn't work with "line in" recording devices.
Like Recording device on kX drivers for sound blaster cards.
Just don't showing such devices in list.

This is kind of a round about way to fix it but you could download manycam, and 
set the mic on manycam to the one you want. Then on micmute set manycam as the 
mic. Should work.
