This does not seem to be documented anywhere, but on rhel7 you'd need to use the advanced virt channel, as the base qemu-kvm version is too old. rhel8 and latest fedoras work.
I have now make a installation run both with RHEL8 as well as Fedora 34. The install ISO came via my employer, and I expect that they are hardened.
In both runs, the libvirtd service fails to start. I followed the libvirtd one time setup instructions.
I wonder if there are special instructions that are not documented for libvirtd?
Can you paste the failures you got?
These are the failures:
I am willing to try it on open source fedora or centos if that would work when following the instructions.
libvirtd.service: Start request repeated too quickly.
something is preventing libvirtd from starting, this seems to be a local system configuration issue? Maybe /var/log/libvirtd/libvirtd.log
has more details, or journalctl -u libvirtd
I ran the install sequence on RHEL 7 after going though the prerequisites and ran into an error during the installation.
log.txt
Is it possible to describe the operating system where the installer have been tested and should work?
