Advantages- There are no ads or advertisers involved: users pay websites micropayments while on their site. Personal information of user is safe. This is due to the usage of Coil which is a web monetization solution.

Website Description- Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Users pay a monthly subscription using Flattr. • The amazing work and software (eg LibreOffice) put out by TDF is possible thanks to support from their users. Web monetization facilitates this and allows TDF to continue to put out new projects, fund volunteer work and the administration of the foundation.

It also allows short filmmakers share their content. • The web monetization platform used is Coil. It allows the website generate revenue from user subscriptions. • With Coil, ShortFilmWeb generates revenue that enables them to continue providing quality content as well as support budding filmmakers.

Websites web monitezation. Below, I shortly want to outline five companies that are using coil s monetizing system to support their online presence. These are wikipedia.org, technology, Ushahidi.com and Coilexplore and my favourite,the beautiful blog contentme. from my home country Germany.

All these five companies have made use of the alternative payment method offered by the company coils. The Coil website states “ Our monetezation model offers an alternative to the status quo of paid advertisements and selling the public’s attention to the highest bidders – A solution that will serve the people who aren’t being served well today.” In other words, they are attempting to bridge the gap between the large company advertising for attention of the masses and the smaller blogger or writer that really intends to give quality content and thus has been overlooked by the harsh rules of online marketing.

The system they use is very simple. The companies sign up to be part of the Coils wallet programme and each time a person visits their website, they are being paid by Coil.

The benefit of such a form of advertising

The benefits are threefold.

For the creators of content, now as initially intended, quality is the most important driving force of their service, no more worrying about pleasing a generic algorithm.

In addition, the of the website visitor is respected as their data is not shared with other third party companies.

For the companies, that use Coil, they do not have to worry of embedding ads on their website, destroying their user experience in some sort of way.

What is Google AdSense? Google AdSense is a website monetization platform that implements a snippet of Javascipt code to generate revenue. Adsense uses its propierty software to place advertisements based on variables generally seen when you click on the ad i.e. geographical location, information collected by the publisher, and interests. Google AdSense is commonly used due the cost and effectiveness.

The blog guides users and provides them with the right strategies and ideas to help them grow their business. The website generates revenue from donations, ebooks, online courses and online advertising.

2. Shemeansblogging.com Shemeansblogging.com implements web monetization to generate revenues from Shemeansblogging.com subscriber’s. The revenues generated are deposited to the site wallet account. By using the JavaScript code (F12) snippet, Shemeansblogging.com ads are disabled for some subscribers and shown to others. This allows for the conversion rate to be increased as ads are specific to the user.

3. nahbnow.com NAHBNow (National Association of Home Builders) is a home building industry news, product information and educational resources blog. NAHB Now uses web monitization by allowing banner ads to be shown for a commission based on conversion. NAHB Now also generates revenue by giving free information access with minimal adds as per the users' choice. Additional value is added to web monetization subscribers as they are able to receive news, updates, and details specific to their home needs.

4. whowhatwear.com Who What Wear is a blog I commonly read and decided to complete a further analysis on. Who What Wear is a celebrity style and fashion blog. The site uses web monetization to generate revenues from Who What Wear subscribers visitors; the publisher also posts links of articles to the Who What Wear explore page in other to get more traffic from Who What Wear subscribers. Subscribers wallet account hold revenues generated from shown ads.

5. theeverygirl.com The Everygirl is a lifestyle blog, with content generally specific to those between the age 18-35. The Everygirl blog generates revenue by extending the session time of users coming from social media as opposed to "fashion blog" search on google. Through specific ads, the blog generates revenues from the hyperlinks of products they recommend.
