Whitespace cleanup #974

Closed TimidRobot closed 5 years ago

TimidRobot commented 5 years ago

Description The following changes make the files more consistent (easier to parse both visually and programmatically) without making any changes in how content is displayed:

  1. replaced DOS/Windows line endings (\r\n) with Linux/macOS line endings (\n)
  2. replaced old Mac line endings (\r) with Linux/macOS line endings (\n)
  3. replaced tabs (\t) with 4 spaces ( )
  4. stripped trailing spaces (\+$)

Other information Commands run:

  1. converted line endings to unix newlines
    gsed -e's/\r\n/\n/g' -e's/\r/\n/g' -i *
  2. replaced tabs with spaces; stripped trailing spaces
    gsed -e's/\t/ /g' -e's/ \+$//' -i *

Note: gsed is GNU Sed installed view Homebrew on macOS. On most Linux distributions, the commands above can just be run using sed instead of gsed. On systems without GNU Sed, you'll have to specify a backup suffix and delete the backups files afterwards.

Sorry for the huge pull request. The good news is that it only needs to be done once.
