The following changes make the files more consistent (easier to parse both visually and programmatically) without making any changes in how content is displayed:
replaced old Mac line endings (\r) and DOS/Windows line endings (\r\n) with Linux/macOS line endings (\n)
replaced tabs (\t) with 4 spaces ()
stripped trailing spaces (\+$)
Only whitespace was changed. The following command has no output:
git diff -w master..whitespace-cleanup-v3
Other information
Commands run:
updated to use unix line endings
dos2unix --keep-bom *
tabs with spaces; stripped trailing spaces
gsed -e's/\t/ /g' -e's/ \+$//' -i *
Note:gsed is GNU Sed installed view Homebrew on macOS. On most Linux distributions, the command above can just be run using sed instead of gsed. On systems without GNU Sed, you'll have to specify a backup suffix and delete the backups files afterwards.
