I can't change colors #8

I've been trying to change the colors of the post card tag and the links at the bottom. I've found the color sources in the "_card.scss" and "_footer.scss" in the custom assets folder, I've changed the color values therein, and I've re-zipped the folder and uploaded the theme to Ghost. On my site, the colors revert to those in the original theme, not the ones I've changed them to and are now in the files Ghost is reading from. I'm not an expert in CSS, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

old post it seems but bump. noticed when running npm run dev gulp gets stuck right after build, halting the process results in the following dialogue.
