There are many situations/issues in life where I think "if this were a software project, I'd report a bug"
Basically a form of company feedback issue tracker for issues their customers encounter...but not hosted or set up by the company...just centralized like Yelp or whatever
Think Yelp, but not for the benefit of seeing others' reviews, but more for the benefit of the company
Think the BBB, but not the overhead of tracking every single problem to its conclusion and ratings are not built from it
Users are always anonymous from the outside, they have no choice (but login is required for minor spam prevention)
Issues are high-level, but details can be given by user if chosen, e.g.
All issues of a common type are really just one issue
Physical storefront locations, company responsible, etc are stored as attributes allowing slice and dicing of the data
E.g.
Burger king messed up my burger and location A, I asked for X, got Y...the issue would be "Order incorrect" but details can be given
Saw expired item on self at Kroger
Truck of company X drove really bad at time X on road Y
Issues are for companies only, not people (e.g. place X has really bad/slow lines, not customer at place X was annoying)
Users can opt in to company communication (i.e. make themselves available for feedback) and maybe only for X days
Can allow private data such as the employee that did bad
Benefits:
Companies routinely offer incentives for feedback/surveys, here they get it for free
This is geared towards fixing things, not ratings...so companies can feel better about real feedback
Users can feel like they have a place to at least say something, where
A tough balance between transparency of reports and trying to keep from using this as a ratings/review system
Monetization:
Companies can pay to be "recognized" as the actual company responsible at which point they are validated as companies and are allowed to directly communicate (via our "ticket" system, not email) to users that are ok with it
Tagline example: "Not all of us are ask-for-a-manager types"
There's no community seeking to progress society with an open discussion of ideas about why things are good or bad. I had this idea for a community discussing Does Wrong and Does Good.
